An "Unknown Part" message means your iPhone detects a replaced component (like a screen, battery, or camera) that is either non-genuine, used, or was not properly paired to your logic board using Apple's official service processes.

If an issue with a component significantly affects the functionality of the device and needs attention to resolve, your iPhone will display a one-time notification. This notification will appear the first time you unlock your iPhone after the issue is detected, and the notification will remain in Parts and Service History until you dismiss it.

An example from an out of warranty display repair, the expert technicians will:

• Visually assess the damaged device, power off when applicable for repair preparation.

• Removed the old display using a specialised heated display removal fixture.
